Funeral Services for Dortha Mae Martin, 89, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 27, 2014 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Dan Day and burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Dortha Mae Martin was born January 4,1925 to Clarence Hayden and Abilene (Mikels) Hayden in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in the Clinton Regional Hospital. Dortha was raised and attended school in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She was married to Garry Archer in 1942 in Hammon, OK. They made their home in Butler where they owned and operated a cream station and later owned and operated the Phillip Gas 66 Station. She later moved to Oklahoma City for a short time and moved back to Custer County and settled in Clinton. She was employed as a waitress at the Route 66 land mark, Pop Hicks Restaurant. She was married to Paul Martin in 1963 in Clinton. They moved out west to Tucson, AZ where he held a civil service job. They moved back to Clinton in 1986 and Mr. Martin preceded her in death in 1992. She moved to the Yukon area for about 15 years and has been a resident of Angelwood Assisted Living Center in Clinton for the past five years. She is a member of the Baptist Faith, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Cecil Hayden, Archie Hayden, Orville Hayden and Percy Hayden. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Archer and wife, Joyce, of Clinton, and Garry Archer and wife, Rhonda, of Yukon; step daughter, Margaret White, Sentinel, OK; step son, Bill Martin of Nacogdoches, TX; a sister Margaret Lepage, of Big Bear, CA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Western Oklahoma Christian School.
