Funeral Services for Earl E. Caves, 94, Burns Flat resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 5, 2015 in the First Baptist Church in Burns Flat, OK, officiated by Rev. Robert Colston and Rev. Loyd Hall. Burial will conclude in the North Burns Cemetery in Burns Flat, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Earl Eugene Caves was born March 4, 1920 to George Thomas and Mittie (Risenhoover) Caves in Wright City, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 in the Cordell Memorial Hospital in Cordell, OK. Earl was one of nine children. He joined the United States Army after graduating from Clinton High School. While on leave from the Army, he married Lona Inez Williams March 29, 1941 after five years courting hand in hand. Earl was the proud father of his daughter, Dee Vail and son, retired Sgt. George Thomas Caves. He was a hero to his family, and to the United States as a patriot and distinguished military leader, and a WWII Veteran. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved football from his days at Clinton High as a football star known as Killer Caves. He enjoyed his days of farming, and was a successful real estate broker in California, Missouri, and Burns Flat, OK. He loved children and treated each child as one of his own. He also loved dogs and a "good deal". Mostly, he loved the Lord, his wife, and his family. His favorite hobby was giving a leg up to anyone that needed a little help. But all who knew him, know that trying to put paint on a house or a wall was just plain fun for him. He was greatly respected, and will be missed by so many. It is with great joy that his family and friends all know that he is now at home, at peace, and painting rainbows for the Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers and a grandson, Allen Wayne Daugherty.
