Edward Neparko

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Edward Neparko will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 12, at the White Dog in Clinton, OK. Ed was born December 10, 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and passed away September 17, 2016 at his home outside Clinton, OK. He obtained all his schooling through Grade 12 in the Winnipeg Public Schools. He attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry. After working in Eastern Canada for 2 years, Ed was accepted by the University of Oklahoma graduate school, earning his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. His post doctorate work was completed at UCLA and the University of Alberta at Edmonton. In October of 1963, Ed accepted a teaching position with the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Chemistry Department. On January 16, 1969, Ed proudly became a US citizen. He retired from SWOSU in May of 1994. He spent many summers farming and offering custom cutting and baling services throughout the area. Ed thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years on the family farm, on Route 66, east of Clinton. Ed is survived by Mary Neparko, Santa Fe, NM; Yasha and Shannon Neparko, and granddaughters Nadya and Katya, Vado, NM; and Felicia Neparko, Erie, CO. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and older sisters, Helen and Olive. In lieu of flowers, the famly suggests donations be made to the SWOSU Neparko Family Chemistry Scholarship Fund, the SWOSU Ed Neparko Senior Chemist Award, the SWOSU Neparko Family Pharmacy Scholarship Fund, the Waynoka Historical Society, or the Custer County Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary.
