Funeral Services for Elaine Curtis, 43, Clinton resident, will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday,
April 24, 2024, in the Clinton Emergency Response Center, officiated by Pastor Gerald Panana and Pastor Mona Bearshield. The burial will conclude in the Colony Indian Cemetery in Colony, OK, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
A Traditional All Night Wake Service will be held starting 7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in the Clinton Indian Baptist Church.
Elaine Curtis was born November 13, 1978, to Samie Lynn Curtis and Chester Old Bear in Clinton, OK and passed away early Saturday, April 20, 2024, in the St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Elaine was raised in Clinton where she attended school thru the 8th grade. She moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Tulsa Schools. She later attended Rose State College in El Reno, OK and then continued her education at Bacone Business College in Muskogee, OK, receiving a degree in Business.
She has been employed at the Sonic Drive In, Clinton Laundry, Bar-S Foods, and the Lucky Star Casino.
She was a proud member of the Cheyenne/Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, and a member of the Clinton Indian Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing bead work, drawing, she was an artist and she loved doing calligraphy. She was a collector of hats, turtles, beadwork, and gnomes.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, Samie Curtis, brothers, Shannon Curtis, and Virgil Curtis, all of Clinton, OK.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and Cousins.
