Funeral Services for Elsie S. Vogt, 82, Corn resident will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 2, 2012 in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Rev. Tim Sandy and Rev. Ken Gardner and burial will follow in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Elsie S. Vogt was born July 14, 1930 to Andrew A. Schmidt and Anna (Martin) Schmidt northeast of Cordell, OK and passed away Monday October 29, 2012 in Integris S.W. Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Elsie was raised in Cordell as a small child and she moved to Corn with her parents when she was in the fifth grade. She attended Corn Bible Academy and graduated in 1949. She married Marvin R. Schmidt on November 8, 1949 in Corn, OK and they made their home southwest of Cordell where they began their farming operation. They were also licensed insurance agents in Corn and had a business there for a number of years. She also worked in the Kitchen at the Corn Home for Aged for a short time as well as cooking at the Corn Public Schools. She was a faithful and active member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, serving whatever capacity she could. She was a supporter of the Etcetera Shop in Weatherford and she has been very active with the Wear It Again Store and the Clinton Mission House for the homeless. She was a quilter and was a member of the sewing circle, she enjoyed cooking and gardening and just doing anything she could for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roy Vogt, a sister, Verna Harms and a brother, Roland Schmidt. She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Marvin, of the home, a daughter, Charlene Jaronek and husband, Dan, of Cordell, OK, a son, James Vogt and wife, Debbie, Edmond and a brother, Milton Schmidt and wife Dolores, Hesston, KS. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Angela Rapihana and husband, Carl, Stephanie Jaronek, Jeff Jaronek and wife Tara , Ashely Vasek and husband Maison, and Hillary Vogt, and John Vogt and wife Emily.
