Memorial Services for Elizabeth Blaylock, 81, a Yukon resident and former Weatherford resident, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2017, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel in Clinton, Oklahoma, officiated by Sara Bodenstein, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at a later date on the family's farm. Elizabeth Blaylock was born on March 9, 1936, to Cecil Thomas and Elizabeth (Covell) Blunn in Sacramento, California, and passed away on Friday evening, November 10, 2017, in Oklahoma City. Elizabeth was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. She went to Teachers College high school, the University of Nebraska, and received her Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Michigan. Elizabeth married D. Morris Blaylock on December 27, 1969, in Lincoln, Nebraska, before settling in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Elizabeth was a social worker in Nebraska, Colorado, and Alaska prior to getting married and raising a family. She owned and operated a home-based sewing business and used Seminole Indian patchwork designs to create vestments for clergy. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. Elizabeth was very active in the Democratic Party and in numerous quilting groups. She enjoyed quilting, reading, her cats, and discussing politics. She was a cellist and a member of several community orchestras. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Morris Blaylock, and one sister, Althea Schaf. Elizabeth is survived by her two daughters, Jody Blaylock of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Myra Blaylock of Livermore, California; a son-in-law, Christopher Dombrowski of Livermore, California; a sister, Felicity Hollister of Alvord, Texas; and a brother, Thomas Blunn of Missoula, Montana. Donations may be made in her honor in lieu of flowers to the ACLU, the World Wildlife Fund, and the Human Rights Campaign.
