Elizabeth Lorene Gorshing

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lorene Gorshing will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Blessed Sacred Catholic Church in Thomas, OK, officiated by Father Christian Tran. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel. Elizabeth Lorene Gorshing was born March 9, 1925 to J.L. and Rose (Miller) Johnson in Custer City, OK and passed away Friday morning, May 8, 2015 in the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. She was married to Chester "Shorty" Gorshing on June 4, 1949 in Anthon, OK. Mrs. Gorshing was raised in Custer City graduating in 1943. She began a career as a teller in the First National Bank of Custer City and later became the bookkeeper and retired in 1989. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant brother, James, and a brother Edward Johnson. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Thomas, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She is survived by her husband, Chester "Shorty" Gorshing of the home, two daughters, Linda Smith and husband, Gary and Kathy Luschen and husband, Dale, all of Yukon, OK. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Lindsey Hayes and husband, Daniel, of Aurora, CO.
