Ernest Ruiz Chapa

Funeral Services for Ernest Ruiz Chapa, age 91, Clinton resident, have been set for 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Broadway Heights Baptist Church, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. Ernest was born October 14, 1926, to Federico and Lorenza (Ruiz) Chapa in Alice, Texas, and passed away December 18, 2017 in the Methodist nursing home, in Clinton, OK. Ernest was raised in Alice, Texas, and attended school there. He married Maria L. Olvera on January 13, 1945 in Bryan, Texas. He was a member of the Templo Marantha, and was a past preacher there. Ernest worked as a farm laborer, several lumber yards, and was in ministry for over 70 years. Ernest enjoyed carpentry, reading his Bible, playing his guitar, and singing. He is preceded in death by both his parents, his wife Maria, and 1 son Samuel Chapa. He was survived by 3 daughters, Ester Rodriguez of Denver, Annie Gonzales of Montana, Elizabeth and her husband John Acosta Sr. of Clinton, 5 sons Ernest Chapa Jr. of Texas, Daniel Chapa of Texas, David Chapa of Clinton, Zeke Chapa of Clinton, Israel Chapa of Texas, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
