A chapel Services for Ernestine Binion, 95, Corn resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated Pastor Brian Harris, of Pine Acres Church in Weatherford, OK. Burial will conclude in the Sayre Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Ernestine Claris Binion was born August 3, 1924 to Ernest Stephenson and Clara (Bowman) Stephenson in Rankin, OK and passed away Friday January 24, 2020 in the Wilshire Skilled Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, OK. Ernestine was raised in the Syare, Cheyenne and Roll areas and attended a one-room school house, Breezy Meadow School near Leedey, OK. She was married to Ira Binion in October 1953 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She was raised on a farm and helped her dad with farming. After marriage she and her husband, Ira, made their homes in Sayre, Lawton and then Wichita, KS where they became acquainted with Tommy and Lloyd Day, founders of Daylight Donuts. They introduced the Binions to the donut business in 1960. They made and sold donuts in Kingman, KS, Burkburnett, TX, Gotebo, OK, Hobart, OK and Sayre, OK where they retired in 1993 after 25 years. Her favorite thing to do was to clean houses and did that for many families in the Sayre area. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband. She is survived by her son, Billy Gene Binion and wife, Dian, OKC, OK and three grandchildren, Rebecka Rendon and husband Anthony, San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth Binion, Boley, OK and Breanna McElroy and husband Logan, War Acres, OK and five great-grandchildren, Jonah, Ali, Sami, Meadowlark, and Iverson.
