Funeral Services for Ernestine Bose, 93, Bessie resident, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in the Grace Lutheran Church in Weatherford, OK. The burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Ernestine Bose was born December 15, 1929, to Otto Brady and Beatrice (Morris) Brady in the family home in Clinton, OK, and passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in the Cordell Memorial Hospital in Cordell, OK, surrounded by family.

She was raised during the Great Depression and had to learn to help wherever she could on the farm. She started Guy Country School at the age of five and later transferred to Nance Elementary for two years. At the age of eight her mother became ill and was hospitalized for two years; therefore, she had to change schools again and attended Bessie School. Ernestine and her siblings were split up for a while until her mother could care for them again.

She had a love for the piano at a young age and convinced her father to purchase a piano when she was about 12 years old. She learned to play and spent over 60 years playing for church services, weddings, and funerals.

She graduated from Clinton High School in 1948 and continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. While in college she took organ lessons and played the organ for Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, OK.

She had to leave college after one year and start working. She got a job working for Clarence Sweeney Law Office as a secretary. She then worked as a claims clerk for the Division V Headquarters for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and later for the Superintendent of Clinton Schools, Al Harris, as his secretary.

She met Edward Bose Jr. while playing for his brother’s wedding, and on March 11, 1951, she and Edward were married in Clinton. Since Edward was in the army, they lived in Georgia a short while before he was deployed to Germany. When he returned, they moved to Bessie.

She was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and most recently Grace Lutheran Church in Weatherford, OK.

She was a wonderful cook and made delicious cinnamon rolls and creamy macaroni and cheese. She loved roses, the color lavender, and springtime. She enjoyed reading mystery novels and watching westerns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Beatrice Brady, husband, Edward Bose Jr., sister, Mildred Dixon, and brother, Kenneth Murray, two nephews, Eric Jacobson and Jim Dixon, and niece, Kristin Jacobson.

She is survived by son, Bryan Bose and wife, Kimberly, Clinton, OK, sister, Janice Jacobson and husband, Lloyd, Redlands, CA, niece, Stacy Creed and husband, Bruce, and great-niece, Erin Creed all of Williams Bay, WI.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer Rovey and husband, Karl, and Katherine Bose, all of Clinton, and Andrew Thome, Ft. Worth, TX, and great-grandchildren, Joanna and Lydia Rovey, and Saige and Ella Thome.
