Funeral Services for Evelyn L. Norris, 90, former Cordell resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 10, 2014 in the Northside Church of Christ in Cordell, officiated Gantt Carter burial will conclude in the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, OK. Evelyn Lorene Norris was born to Robert J. Hartless and Mary Blanche Bryant on October 30, 1923 in Cook County, TX and passed away on January 2, 2014 in the Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, CA. Evelyn came to Oklahoma at an early age and attended her schooling at Hester and Mangum, Oklahoma. She moved to California in 1943 and was married to Mr. Alton Norris on February 3, 1943 in Santa Ana, California. She moved back to Oklahoma in October 1973 and settled in Cordell. She worked at the Cherokee Trading Post before her final retirement. He has been a resident of California for the past two years. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ in Cordell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Norris, her parents, and four sisters, Rita Marie Hartless, Lois Langley, Bessie Blount and Mattie Reed, and three brothers, Jesse Hartless, Damon Hartless, Gene Hartless She is survived by two sons, Paul Norris, of Cordell, OK and Donald W. Norris, of Yuba City, CA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
