Forrest Goucher

Funeral Services for Forrest Goucher, 92, lifelong Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the First Church of God, officiated by Pastor's Greg Hill and Roy Dobbs. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. James LaForrest Goucher was born September 11, 1926 to Ben and Hortense (Hackler) Goucher in Foss, Oklahoma and passed away late Saturday, October 21, 2017 in his Clinton home. Forrest was raised and attended school in Clinton. He started his working career at a very young age and was married to Rudene Sipe on October 20, 1944 in Clinton. He joined the U.S. Army in 1944 and served during WWII in the Asian Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on December 12, 1946. He returned to Clinton and started a career in Brick Masonry. He has bricked many of the homes and businesses in Clinton and the surrounding areas. He was very proud of the fact that he had a major part in building three churches in Clinton; two for the First Church of God and the Highland Hills Church of God. His wife preceded him in death in 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sherry Peden, three sisters, Elsie Balentine, Fern Brewer and Viola Stout; three brothers, Bill, Lawrence, and Kenneth. He was a longtime active and faithful member of the First Church of God; he served 12 years on the Clinton City Council; he was a member of the American Legion and he spent many hours working with his cattle; he was a master gardener and planted a vegetable garden in the 2016 season. He is survived by his son, Monte Goucher and wife, Lesa, Weatherford; brother, Wayne Goucher and wife, Glendene, Clinton, two grandchildren, Mitchell Goucher and Garrett Goucher, and their mother, Tina Goucher, and two great-grandsons, James Goucher and Hunter Goucher.
