Funeral Services for Francis "John" Kaulay, 70, Clinton resident will be held 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the First Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Geraldine Jenkins, Rev. Delfred White Crow, and Rev. George Akeen and burial will follow in the Cedar Creek Cemetery east of Carnegie, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A Traditional All Night Wake Service will start at 7:00 P.M., Friday, August 16, 2013 in the Cheyenne/Arapaho Community Center next to the Lucky Star Casino. Francis Cato "John" Kaulay was born May 10, 1943 to James Oscar Kaulay and Jessie (Katchalah) Kaulay in Carnegie, Oklahoma and passed away August 13, 2013 in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. John was raised in the Carnegie area and attended Ft. Sill Indian School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 21, 1962 and served at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and attended Jump School in Ft. Benning, GA and then joined the 101st Air Bourne Unit. He was honorably discharged in August of 1963. He soon attended U.S. Trade School in Kansas City, Kansas and received his masters welding degree. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked for Trinity and that same year he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard. He moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where he married Willie Jean White Crow on March 31, 1971. They made their home in Clinton where he was employed as a welder for the railroad. He was also employed with Indian health Services which he retired in 2003 and then he worked for the Lucky Star Casino 2005 till 2007. He was a member of the Christ Gospel Church in Watonga, OK and a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe, and Black Leggings Society. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Jessica Kaulay, sisters, Pearl Kaulay Meeks, Patricia Kaulay, Eva Kaulay, Jacqueline Jessie Kaulay, and Nancy Ann Kaulay-Ross and brothers, Samuel Kaulay, Ralph Kaulay, Sr., Paul Richard Kaulay, Conrad "Mickey" Kaulay and James ViddelKaulay. He is survived by daughters, Vercilla "Sugar" Kaulay, Clinton and sons, Jonathan Kaulay, Clinton, George Hawkins, Jr., OKC and Richard Hawkins, Clinton and adopted daughter, Effie Bear Track, Hydro; sisters, Martha Nell Kaulay-Poolaw, Norman, Cora Bernice "Bunnie" Tate, Fletcher, OK and CarletaKaulay-Antone, Anadarko. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren And 8 great-grandchildren.
