Funeral Services for Freda Stephenson, 91, former Washita County resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Harold Goldmann. Burial will follow in the Union Hatchett Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Freda Rosie Stephenson was born September 30, 1922 to Gottlieb G. Neugebauer and Magdalena (Ratke) Neugebauer in Roosevelt, Oklahoma and passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. Freda came to Washita County with her parents when she was three days old. They settled Southwest of Clinton and she attended the Guy Country School. She stayed home and helped the family with the younger children. She married Mr. Alvin C. Stephenson on February 7, 1944 in Clinton. They made their home on the farm until his death in 1980. She was a farmer's wife and did her own farming for over 27 years as well as working at the OK Turkey Plant, Clinton Laundry and worked for Dr. Lingenfelter. She moved into Clinton in 1998. She was a member of the Bessie Baptist Mission Church, she had served as Sunday school teacher for over 40 years; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, embroidering, gardening and quilting. She loved to help others and take care of elderly people. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Elmer and Alfred Neugebauer and a sister, Dorothy Fawver. She is survived by two daughters, Betty J. Connell and husband, Dennis, Belton, TX and Wanda Hooks and husband, Doug; a son, Ron Stephenson and Betty Rhea Thompson, of Clinton; three sisters, Lydia Lane, of Seminole, OK, Ottilie Wright, of Belton, TX and Ann Corley and husband, Albert, Anadarko, OK. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dustin Connell, Belton, TX, Derek Connell, Waco, TX and Gary Stephenson, Mt. View, OK and three great-grandchildren, Mistie, Kristi and Dylan.
