Funeral Services for G. Jeanette Atha, 59, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, Officiated by Rev. Rick Robart. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Gina Jeanette Atha was born January 19, 1958 in Alva, Oklahoma to J.W. Small and Ruth Ann (Vore) Small and passed away early Sunday morning, September 3, 2017 in her Clinton home. Jeanette, as her family and friends called her, was raised in Dacoma, Oklahoma where she started school. Later Dacoma and Carmen consolidated and she graduated from Carmen-Dacoma High School in 1976. She continued her education at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, OK and transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford where she graduated with a Recreational Leadership degree. She married Fred Atha on August 16, 1980 in Dacoma, Oklahoma. They moved to Pond Creek where she was employed at the Oklahoma State Department of Health and then transferred to Western Oklahoma where she worked for the Health Department until 1991. She received a position with the Oklahoma Department of Education and retired there in 2014. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was very active in the Church choir; she is a member of P.E.O. and a past member of the Ambucs Club. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Fred, of the home, daughter, Jenisa Atha, Oklahoma City, OK; son Jared Atha and his wife Alison, Canute, OK and two sisters, Jennie Small, Woodward, OK and Lisa Boler and her husband, Mark, Enid, OK; brother, Preston Small, Dacoma, OK. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Katherine Atha and James Atha, both of Canute and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and other family members. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contributing may do so to Metavivor on line.
