Funeral Services for Gary L. Cordes, 60, former Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the First Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Ross Foster and Rev. Wendell Folsom and burial will follow in the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Gary Leon Cordes was born July 27, 1953 to Joe Dick and Mary Geraldine "Gerrie" Cordes in Clinton, OK and passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 north of Arapaho, OK. Gary was raised in Clinton and attended Clinton Schools graduating in 1971. He was married to Glenda Hopkins on August 16, 1971 in Clinton. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford but his education was put on hold while he served time in the U.S. Army. After he was discharged he moved to Eldorado, Oklahoma and worked for the Eldorado Coop and he later transferred to the Clinton Coop. He returned to Southwestern and achieved a degree in Accounting. He opened and operated Cordes Bookkeeping and Accounting for several years as well as farming. He moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota in December of 1998 and worked for the Farm Credit as a Tax Specialist. He also moved to Grafton, ND also working for Farm Credit. In April of 2003 he moved to Minot, North Dakota and was employed with Gerdeau Ameristeel, in 2007 he went to work for Magic City Implement and Oil where he was employed at his death. He had acctepted Christ as his savior at the age of nine at the Custer Ave. Baptist Church in Clinton. He is a member of the Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Minot, ND and an Honorary Member of the Future Farmers of America in Clinton. He was preceded in death by his dad, Joe Dick, and a sister Suzi Duff. He is survived by his mother, Gerrie Cordes, of Clinton, a son, Adam Cordes and wife, Spring, of Arapaho, a daughter, Stacy Robison and husband, Dusty, of Wolfforth, TX, his fiancée, Leann Zablotney and her daughter, Tiffanie Fettig and her husband, Barry and son, Travis Zablotney and his wife, Kerri, all of Minot, North Dakota. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Emily Jones, Haley Cordes, Erika Cordes, Cheston Cordes, Brandon Shackelford, McKinzie Fettig, Kelsie Fettig, Kylie Fettig, Karlee Zablotney, and Tate Zablotney and his Aunt Bertha Ratke, Yukon and Uncle Gordon Cordes and his wife Phyllis, of Vicksburg, MS. The family will greet guests at the funeral home 5:00 till 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 17, 2014
