George Thomas Cundiff, Jr., 80, resident of Weatherford Living Center and former resident of Arapaho, passed away on November 6, 2012 after a long illness. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. in the Arapaho Cemetery, Arapaho, Ok. on November 9, 2012, officiating will be Pastor William Folsom. He was born January 10, 1932 in Sadler, Grayson County, Texas to George T. Cundiff Sr. and Clara Lucille (Cartwright) Cundiff. He attended a one room school in Sadler, Texas until the family moved to Denison, Texas. He started working early in his teens and driving a truck at eighteen years old. He was a professional over the road driver for well over 40 years, taking time out to serve his country during the Korean War. He served in the United States Army for five years and five months. Jo Cathryn Wilkirson and George were married on September 9, 1950 in Denison, Texas. They had four children: Tom, Barbara, Teri and Bob. Preceding George in death are parents: George and Clara Cuindiff, infant brother, James, infant daughter, Barbara, and infant son, James Robert (Bob), and two brothers-in-law: Sidney Pierce Wilkirson and James Evans, and a son-in-law, Curtis Stephens. Survivors include his wife, Cathryn, son: George Thomas Cundiff III and wife, Sandye, of Houston Tx., one daughter, Teresa Jo Stephens of Kingfisher, Ok., a brother, Harold Cundiff, Ft Worth, Texas, a sister, Lucille Evans of Denison, Tx., a sister-in-law, Nellie Wilkirson of Oceanside, Calif,. a brother-in-law, David Wilkirson and wife, Sandy of Denison Tx., and nine grandchildren: Andrea Cundiff, Jennifer Robinson, Krista Cundiff, James Cundiff Jr., Nathan Cundiff, Cathryn Cundiff, Veronica Cundiff, Zachary Stephens and Jacob Stephens and five great-grandchildren.
