Funeral services for Geraldine Bray, 83, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 22, 2017, in the Bethany Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Billy Mucker, Rev.Larry Featherstone, Rev. Arthur Jefferson, and Rev. Tyrone Lewis. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A Family Service will be held 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 21, 2017, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel. Geraldine (Hopkins) Bray was born on July 7, 1934, in Arthur City, Texas to Sherman and Arvella (Whaley) Hopkins and passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, in Tulsa, OK. Geraldine (Gerri) was the eldest of nine children. Early in life Gerri accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and lived a Christian life. She was a prayerful woman and served the Lord to the fullest while attending the Bethany Baptist Church for the past 52 years. Gerri always had a positive outlook on life and felt the Lord's presence even when her disability required her leaving employment from the Veterans hospital. Mrs. Bray was an active and faithful member of the Bethany Baptist Church, She loved the outdoors, going to the lake, fishing, boating, camping and just spending time with her family and friends because they were the love of her life. Along with her husband they loved to travel and her most memorable trip was when she ventured to London. She loved to knit, crochet and work with her hands. She loved to sit around and talk and tell stories about children, grandchildren and her sisters and sister in law. Gerri married her husband and soul mate, James Bray, Jr. "J.B." on June 28, 1952 in Cooper, Texas. Gerri and JB's Christian union was special. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. The Lord blessed them with three children; Carolyn, Leo, and Gwen. She was preceded in death by her parents Sherman Hopkins, SR and Arvella (Whaley) Hopkins, brother Sherman Hopkins, JR, sister, Evelyn Joyce Vinson and granddaughter Nicole Haley. Left with precious memories is Gerri's loving husband, James Bray, Jr, Clinton. She will be missed by her daughter Carolyn Maynard, Stockton, CA, son Leo and wife Talitha Bray, Tulsa, daughter Gwen Climpson, Tulsa, and her treasured son Larry and wife Velma Featherstone, Lawton. Gerri is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Carol's children Zohna and husband Anthony Everett, Stockton, CA, Tammie Maynard, Oklahoma City, Cassandra and husband Cornell J Gray, Stockton, CA, Willard and wife Chalsey Maynard, Stockton, CA, James and wife Vera Maynard, Oklahoma City; Leo's children Shorena and husband William Ashley, Oklahoma City, Lakeisha and husband Dometri Caldwell, Tulsa, OK, Leo JR Bray, Tulsa, OK, Ruby Bray, Oklahoma City, Josh Bray, Oklahoma City, Charisse Bray, Tulsa, OK, Cierra Bray, Tulsa, OK, Stephanie Long-Kakubo, Tulsa, OK; Gwen's children Jordan Climpson, Tulsa, OK and Destiny Climpson, Tulsa, OK; Larry's child LaTasha Featherston, Oklahoma City, OK. In addition, Gerri is survived by 38 great grandchildren. Gerri is also survived by her brother Harold and wife Sherie Hopkins, Antlers, OK; six sisters Ruby Coney, Detroit, Michigan, Thelma Swinger, Denison, TX, Mary and husband Charles McCarty, Hugo, OK, Doris Rogan, Hugo, OK, Dorothy and husband Johnny Iron, Tulsa, OK, Jean Hopkins, Oklahoma City, OK; sister in law, Arizona Henson, Hugo, OK. Gerri was also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives. Gerri loved all her relatives and friends. Gerri is with the Lord.
