Graveside Services for Geraldine “Jerry” Gray, 99, Corn Heritage Village resident, will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 19, 2020 in the Fort Sill Cemetery on the Fort Sill Army Base in Lawton, OK. Services officiated by a military chaplain and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Geraldine “Jerry” Thelma (Spradlin) Gray was born July 16, 1920 to B.J. and Pearl (Smith) Spradlin in Eldorado, OK and passed away early Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in the Corn Heritage Village in Corn, OK. “Jerry” was raised in the Eldorado and Duke, OK areas. She attended school in Duke thru the 8th grade. She was one of several children and stayed home to care for her siblings. She married Alexander Gray on January 3, 1941 in Lawton, OK. She spent most of her life being a military wife and they traveled and lived and numerous places while following her husband’s 30-year military career. The family retired back in Lawton where her husband preceded her in death. She most recently was a resident of Corn Heritage in Corn, OK. She was of the Baptist faith; she was known to be an expert seamstress, and awesome cook and she and green thumb had loved messing with her plants. She was also preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Conan Gray, brothers and sisters, Woodrow Spradlin, Gladys Slaughter, Nora Clayborn, Callie Thygerson, B.J. Spradlin, Jr., Myrtle Comstock, Ina Merril Raffterty, Dick Spradlin and Twila Jo Swift. She is survived by daughter, Dorothy Schapansky and husband, Randy, Sentinel, OK and son, Darby A. Gray, Jr., and wife Vickie, Norman, OK. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Casey Gray and wife Brenda, and Mollie Jackson and wife, Christie Bemister, all of Saline, Michigan and great-grandson, Cormac Gray and his mother, Kimberly Gray, Joplin, MO.
