Funeral Services for Martha Glea Tutwiler, age 102 will be 2:00 P.M. Friday December 20, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church. Service will be officiated by Rick Robart. Burial will follow at the Arapaho Cemetery and under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Martha Glea Hatcher Tutwiler, age 102, passed away on December 17, 2019 at Angelwood Assisted Living in Clinton, Oklahoma. She was born on January18, 1917 to Witcher and Katie Lou (Dickey) Hatcher at the Hatcher Ranch. Glea graduated from Arapaho High School in 1934. She attended what is now Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford, Oklahoma, then went on to the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. She received her Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Oklahoma and was the only female in her graduating class. She worked as a secretary for the office of Justice Riley, Oklahoma Supreme Court in Oklahoma City. She later opened her own law office in Arapaho, then moved it to Clinton. Glea was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association for over seventy years. I 2003 she was honored at the Oklahoma Bar Association women in law conference as one of the pioneering women in Law. She was involved in the Custer County Mineral Owners, serving as chairman for 15 years. She was also a director on the board of Action Associates. Glea was a member of the United Methodist Church where she had been on the Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She loved to travel abroad and here in the States and enjoyed playing bridge and the piano. Glea is proceeded in death by her parents, Witcher and Katie Hatcher, sister and brother-in-law, Florence Ruth Horton and Lawrence Horton, sister Louise Friesen, and son-in-law David Prince. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Tutwiler of Nacogdoches, Texas and Pamela Richards of Beaumont, Texas, son Thomas Tutwiler and wife Marquerita of Clinton, Seven grandchildren: Mark and Eric Tutwiler, Jaclyn Drass, Cody Tutwiler and wife Julie, Bart and Chad Richards and Angelette Leonard and husband Ron, Nephew, Witcher Horton and wife Mona, a niece, Nancy Patterson and great nephew Win Patterson, and two great grandsons.
