Funeral Services for Glenn D. Hubbart, 79, Butler resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 10, 2012 in the Butler Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Wilburn and burial will conclude in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Glenn Dale Hubbart was born March 1, 1933 to Theodore and Georgia (Hempstead) in Butler, Oklahoma and passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital in Clinton, OK. Glenn was raised in Butler and graduated from Butler High School in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 15, 1952 which was during the Korean Conflict and theatre of operation was Pacific. He served with the Fleet Air Gunnery Unit and VP40 Patrol Squadron. On January 4, 1956 in El Centro, California he was honorably discharged and then he served in the Naval Reserve for four years. He returned to Custer County and made his home in Arapaho for a short time and then he moved to Butler where he was a farmer and cattleman until his retirement in 1993. He was married to Betty Joyce (Crow) Washman on August 5, 1965 in Clinton and they made their home Northwest of Butler for a number of years and later moved into Butler. Mr. Hubbart was preceded in death by his parents. He enjoyed playing dominoes; working with wood; he made benches and various things. He liked to work in the yard and loved animals and he enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home, four sisters, Helen Crain, Weatherford, Jean Smith, Sickels, OK, Pauline Shepherd and husband, Sandy, Clinton and Patricia Parkhurst and husband Huston, Arapaho; brother, Russell Hubbart and wife, Linda, Edmond and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Jimmy and Cheryl McLaughlin, Dale Ray, Lois Powers and Art Carpenter all of Butler.
