Funeral Services for Glennis Davis, 87, Arapaho resident will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Arapaho Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Loyd Hall and Rev. Dean Brookshier. Burial will follow in the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, OK under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Glennis (Rhodes) Davis and known by her family as "Babe" was born May 24, 1927 to Lyle and Ada (Cook) Rhodes in Fay, OK and passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in Clinton, Oklahoma. Mrs. Davis was raised in Fay, Oklahoma and graduated from Fay High School in 1946. She was married to Richard Davis on May 25, 1946 in Thomas, OK. They made their homes in Clinton, Springfield, Missouri and Arapaho. She attended Beauty College in Hayesville, KS before moving to Arapaho in 1960. She owned and operated Glennis's Beauty Shop in Arapaho for several years. She was also employed with the Kellwood Factory before retiring. Glennis was a member of the Arapaho's First Christian Church; she enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and gardening and loved to visit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1987, grandson, Wesley Davis, five brother's Carl, Clyde, Kenneth and Ross, and Virgil and three sisters, Blanche Kerschner, Lula Mae Walker and Maxine Rhodes. She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Wilcox, of Cleburne, TX and son, Charles Davis, of Emory TX; sister-in-law, Beulah Webb, of Canute, OK. She is also survived by five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
