Funeral Services for Guy L. Newton, 62, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 16, 2013 in the First Christian Church, officiated by Doyle Kinney and Dan Day and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Guy Lawayne Newton was born December 29, 1950 to Dossie Edmon Newton and Lydia Emma (Miller) Newton in Clinton, OK and passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Elk City, OK. Guy was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1969. He was the manager of the Gibson’s Store in Clinton for over 7 years. During his employment with Gibson’s he met his future bride Linda Cowles and they married on February 6, 1970 in Clinton. They have made their home in Clinton and Guy started a career in trucking and owned and operated his own business. He purchased H.T. Heffington Trucking Company and later he worked or Rider Integrated Logistics doing cross country transporting. He most recently worked for Francis Drilling Fluids Trucking. He was a member of the First Christian Church; 32nd degree mason and a member of the Shrines; he loved to fish, hunt and bike riding and had fun doing duck calls. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Dossie. He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home, a daughter, Amanda Zarbano and husband, Tony, Glenpool, OK and his mother in law, Laverne Alexander, Elk City, step mother in law, Vallene Corbin, Hearst, TX, sister in law, Mrs. Dossie (Holly) Newton, Marlow, OK, brother in law, Dennis Cowles and wife, Elizabeth, Bay St. Louis, MS. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Trey Newton, Weatherford, Natalie Davis and husband, Matt, Marlow, Brittany Maxwell and husband, Alan, San Antonio, TX, Dana Brown and husband, Jason, and Derrick Kimmel, all of Bay St. Louis, MS and great-nephews, Cameron and Carson Brown. The family has suggested those wishing to give a memorial contribution may do so to the First Christian Church in Clinton.
