Funeral Services for Harvey I. Rhoads, Jr., 67, former Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 30, 2014 in the Clinton Indian Community Center east of Clinton, officiated by Gerald Panana and burial will follow in the Clinton Indian Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. An all-night wake service will be held 7:00 P.M., Friday, August 29, 2014 in the Indian Community Center. Harvey Isaac Rhoads, Jr. was born February 16, 1947 to Harvey and Sophia (Goodblanket) Rhoads in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Satuirday, August 23, 2014 in the Ardmore Veterans Center in Ardmore, OK. Mr. Rhoads was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High school in 1965. He was married to Kay Wallace in 1968 and he later married Doreen Bell in 1976. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1968, serving during the Viet Nam Era. He was an inventor of numerous items including some patented items. One of which was a Soft Ball Pitching Device. He authored numerous short stories and wrote a book, he was a bead worker, buckskin craftsman, a connoisseur chef, and he was Fluent in the Cheyenne language He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arleigh, Murray, Sr., sisters, Colleen Cometsevah, Leatrice Poweshiek, Norman Clark and two infant brothers, Spurgeon and Frankie. He is survived by two daughters, Krishna Bear and husband Matthew, Shawnee, OK and Kara Rhoads and husband Sergio Labrada, Newton, KS. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kiera, Micah, Cole, Ethan and Sydney.
