Henry "Hank" Peters

A funeral Service for Henry "Hank" D. Peters, 94, Corn resident will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2014 in the Mennonite Brethren Church in Corn, Ok officiated by Rev. Bennet Peters, son of Mr. Peters and Rev. Tim Sandy, burial will be prior at 2:00 P.M., in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Henry D. Peters was born December 25, 1919 to David C. and Helena (Bartel) Peters in Corn, OK and passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 in the Corn Heritage Nursing Center in Corn, Oklahoma. Henry was raised in Corn and graduated from Corn High School in 1937. He continued his education at Corn Bible Academy for the next year and then attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford. He was a Conscientious Objector and served in the Civilian Public Service Camps during WWII from 1942 till 1945. He returned back to Corn where he began his farming career. He was married to Helen Beatrice Reimer on July 6, 1947 in Corn, OK. They farmed and ranched together until 1980 and they moved into Corn. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Abe Peters and Don Peters and two sisters, Adina Martens and Katherine Neufeld. He is survived by three sons, Bennet Peters and Wife, Jamie, Okeene, OK, Gordon Peters and wife Donnali, of Houston, TX and Jonathan Peters and wife, Diane, Corn, OK and Mayra Harms, Omaha, NE. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
