Funeral Services for Henry Blackbear, 35, Watonga resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 11, 2019 in the Cheyenne/Arapaho Multipurpose building in the Watonga, OK, officiated by Eugene Blackbear, Jr. and others. Burial will follow in the Blackbear Family Cemetery north of Watonga under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A Traditional Wake Service will be held 7:00 till 10:00 P.M., Sunday, March 10, 2019 in the Multipurpose Building in Watonga. Henry Martin Blackbear was born July 13, 1983 to Ralph and Senoria Lou (Slivers) Blackbear in Lawton, Oklahoma and at birth he was given two Indian names by first his grandfather, "Heh-Goony-Mah" meaning "Strong Arrow" and by his grandmother, "Muhn ni-Multz" meaning "New Comer". He passed away Thursday evening March 7, 2019 in the Watonga Mercy Hospital in Watonga, Oklahoma. Henry was raised his entire life in Watonga graduating from Watonga High School with honors in 2001 and he also graduated from Riverside Indian School in 2003. He was active academically as well as in track, basketball, baseball; he was a member of the scholastic team and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He went on to continue his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He had been employed by the Lucky Star Casino as a security guard as well as several other positions. He is a member of the Cheyenne Tribes of Oklahoma and was also NavajoTribe; the Native American Church and was ordained by his grandfather, Eugene Blackbear, Sr., as a Roadman and received by Chief Joe Antelope Chief Peyote and he was a member of the Bow String Society. He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather, Eugene Blackbear, Sr., and his maternal grandmother, Stella Bessie Blackbear, maternal grandfather, Albert Slivers and maternal grand-mother, Mary Lou Tso; paternal aunts, Imogene Blackbear and Frances Doctor and paternal uncle Anthony Taua Roman Nose; maternal Uncles, Fred Slivers, Jr. and Alvin Slivers. He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Senoria Blackbear, Watonga; two sisters, Frances Blackbear, Ft. Defiance, AZ and Amanda Blackbear, Watonga, Oklahoma; brother John Paul Blackbear, Watonga and he is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts nieces and nephews, grandchildren, other family and numerous friends.
