Herbert Miller

Funeral Services for Herbert Miller, 97, Washita County resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Dennis Knight. Burial will conclude in the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral home. Herbert Miller was born September 11, 1919 to Otto Miller and Anna (Foote) Miller in Bessie, Oklahoma and passed away just about five miles from where he was born in his rural Corn home. Mr. Miller was raised in Washita County and has lived his life between Bessie and Corn, OK. He attended the Flynn School and also attended Tabor College in Kansas. He returned back to Oklahoma and settled in Washita County where he made his home on the family farm. He was married to Clara Frey on February 16, 1943 in Bessie, OK and they continued to farm and ranch. They were married for over 66 years and she preceded him in death in March of 2009. He later married Jean (Coy) Cain on June 23, 2010 in Elk City, OK. She joined him on the Corn farm and they had made their home there until the present. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter Miller and Raymond Miller and a sisters in law Anna Miller and Jaime Miller and a brother in law, Wayne Howard. He is a member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church and loved music and enjoyed going to the Clinton Jamboree. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Cain) Miller, of the home, son, Gary Miller and wife, Linda, of Weatherford, step son, David Cain, OKC and step daughter, Pamela Lane and husband, Gary, Canton, TX; sister, Esther Howard, Cordell, and two brothers, Alfred Miller and wife, Jean, and Loyd Miller both of Cordell. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Greg Miller, Lisa Henning and Leanne Dias da Silva and two step grand children, Jaime Lain and Kyle Lain; seven great-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
