Homer J. Harder

Graveside Services for Homer Harder, 94, Norman resident and former Custer County and Washita County resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, July 26, 2021 in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, officiated by Michael Jennings and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Homer J. Harder was born April 21, 1927 to Jacob H. Harder and Katherina (Tena) Duerkson in Cordell, OK and passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Norman, OK. Homer was raised and attended school in Corn. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1945 serving during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1947 receiving the WWII Victory Medal. After his military discharge he returned back to Washita County and farmed. He later began a career with Safeway Grocery Stores as warehouseman and worked in Oklahoma City and Moore. He retired in 1981 and moved back to Washita County to farm. He had made his homes in Corn, Oklahoma City, Cordell, Norman and Clinton, OK. Homer was married to three wonderful ladies, Phyllis Pierson, Delberta Hart and Minnie Treadway-Beall and they had all proceeded in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Viola Couch. He was a member of the Baptist Church, he liked to hunt and fish, bowling and go to different casinos. He loved spending time with his two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Riley. He is survived by two daughters, Anita Simmons, Leavenworth, KS and Connie Glew, Pacific, WA; son, Robert Harder, Cordell, OK and two step sons, Zack Treadway and wife, Joni, Norman, and Jim Treadway and wife, Terry, Yukon, OK. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Nieces and nephews.
