Funeral Services for Irene Chatman, 92, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 2, 2018 in the Bethany Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ricky Jackson and Rev. Leonard Jackson. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee funeral Home. Irene Elizabeth (Woods) Chatman was born December 25, 1925 to Johnny and Mary (Evans) Woods in Gay Hill, Washington County, Texas and passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. Irene was raised and attended school in Texas. She was married to Leroy Chapman on February 17, 1947 in Vernon, TX. They made their home in Clinton. She had worked in Food Service at the Hub Drive In, Pop Hicks Restaurant, and several years for the Clinton Veterans Center. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Christ Holy Sanctified Church where she also served as secretary/treasurer. She enjoyed collecting and going to garage sales. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy , two sons, Lawrence Chatman and Alvin Chatman, two sister, Vanilla Jackson and twin sister Corine Williams and husband A.Y . ; two brothers, Archie Jackson and Amos Johnson and wife Rose. She is survived by two daughters, Doris Narcisses, Midwest City, OK and Edna Chatman, Oklahoma City, OK; sons, Leroy Chatman, Jr., Norfolk, VA, Robert Chatman and wife, LaQuita, OKC, OK, Wilbur Chatman and wife, Verneda, Norfolk, VA, Gary Chatman and wife, Rita Newport News, VA, Larry Chatman and wife, Erma, OKC, OK and Clifford Chatman and wife, Gladys , OKC, OK; sister, Verdel Barker, Clinton, OK. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, The Evans Family, Houston, TX and her best friend, Phyllis Gibson-Caukins, Clinton.
