Funeral Services for Irene Smith, 98, former Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 24, 2016 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Doyle Kinney and burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Audrey Irene (Henry) Smith was born September 29,1917 to William E. Henry and Lexie Alma (Wallace) Henry in Elnora, Arkansas and passed away Tuesday, June 22,2016 in the Wheatlands Health Care Center in Kingman, Kansas. Irene was the fourth child of 12 and was raised in Elnora, Kansas until she was five and then her family moved to Oklahoma and later Lakeview, TX. In her adult life she made homes in various areas including Ruidoso, NM, Clovis, NM, Morton, TX and Amarillo, TX. She was married to Lawrence J. Smith on May 13,1971 and they made their home in Moriarty, NM. The Smiths owned and operated a service station, restaurant and other business interests. The couple moved to Clinton in 1978 where Lawrence became involved in the farming operation of his brother, Bob. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Christian Church, where she was active in the Royal Bean, CWF, and assisted with the group's annual stew dinners and her Sunday School Class; she helped with garage sales to support the CWF missions. She was also a member of the Sunnyside Club, Chalitso, Club, and enjoyed fishing, bowling and working with ceramics. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lawrence, two sons, Donald Robertson, and Reginald Robertson and eleven brothers and sisters, Tollie Henry, Loman Henry, Eugene Henry, Ima Jean Henry, Irma Jean Blackwell, and Gerald Henry, Ed Henry, Aubrey Henry, Dee Henry, Glendon Henry and Devene Isaacs. She is survived by a son, Carl Lee "Skip" Green and his wife, Ruth, Wichita, KS and four grandchildren, James, Gina, Rita and Steve.
