Funeral Services for Irvin Eddy, 76, Clinton resident and former American Legion Commander will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Lonnie Webb. Burial will conclude with Military Honors in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Irvin Dale Eddy was born to Charles Carson and Pearl (Embrey) Eddy November 14, 1941 in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, October 5, 2018 in his Custer City home. Irvin was raised and attended his schooling in Clinton. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 14, 1958 and he served in Korea and the Viet Nam War before he was honorably discharged on December 30, 1965. He was married to Sharon Davis on February 8, 1961 in Tacoma, Washington. After his military career he returned to Clinton and worked for the May Flower Trucking. He then went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. In 1975 he moved his family to Turpin, Oklahoma where he was employed with the Panhandle Feed Lot and moved back to Clinton in 1979. In 1986 He was transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he became the Superintendent of the Highway Department until 1995. He then returned to Custer County where he worked at the Custer County Yard until he retired in 2002. He has been a longtime member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he was a member and served as Commander for the American Legion Post 41 and a local and state level Commander for the Disabled American Veterans; he enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of his cows. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pearl Eddy, two brothers, Lloyd Eddy and Alvin Duane Eddy and two sons, Richard Wayne Eddy and William Brian Eddy and a granddaughter, Micah Janae Eddy. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home, daughter, Kathy Valentine and husband Forrest and son Michael Eddy and wife Shelia and a brother, Bobby Eddy, all of Clinton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
