Jacqueline Renee Cloninger

August 31, 1965 — February 17, 2016

Funeral Services for Jacqueline (Rightnowar) Cloninger, 50, former Clinton resident and now Hydro resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2016 in the First Methodist Church in Hyrdo, officiated by Pastor Ted Uhlig and Pastor Brandon Blacksten. Burial will conclude in the Hydro Masonic Cemetery in Hydro, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Jacqueline "Jackie" Renee Cloninger passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2015 at Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She entered the arms of her Savior, handed over by her loving husband. Jackie was born to Harley "Jack" and Katrina (Williams) Rightnowar in Clinton, Oklahoma on August 31, 1965. She grew up in Clinton, across the street from her grandparents and her aunt Cheri, whom she loved like a sister. Jackie attended school in Clinton and was a member of the Red Tornado jazz choir and Clinton Roundup Club, graduating in 1983. Through high school and college, Jackie was an active member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls as Chaplain for the State of Oklahoma and Ambassador to the Mississippi Rainbow chapter. She followed Rainbow with membership in the Order of the Eastern Star. Jackie attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning Bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Computer Science in 1987. She began working on her Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Oklahoma State University in 1988. Jackie and Eric Cloninger wed on September 2, 1989 in Clinton, making a home in Stillwater where they attended Oklahoma State University. They lived and worked in Denver, Colorado and Austin, Texas before returning to Hydro in 2001. Jackie and Eric enjoyed traveling and saw as much of the world as they could. They drove all over the United States, towing an RV or driving a van. Jackie was an excellent navigator and no roads could overcome her map reading skill. They visited 43 states as well as Canada, Mexico, England, France, Netherlands, and Belgium. At every new destination, Jackie would find a local trinket for the "Memory Tree" she decorated every year at Christmas. Jackie loved working in her community. She helped start the Hydro Public Library with a group of volunteers and operated the library until 2004. She led the Hydro-Eakly 4H program for years, leading a generation of students to Dress Reviews, Demonstrations, and Share the Fun events. She volunteered with Hydro Little League teams, the Hydro Free Fair, and teen bowling leagues. She served her community as Trustee of the City of Hydro for several years until her death. Jackie had a strong faith and found her spiritual home as a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hydro. She was the secretary at the church for many years and anyone who saw her there can testify she was much more than a secretary—she operated the equipment; kept the computers running; assembled the annual reports; and most importantly, kept the pastors out of trouble. Jackie is survived by her husband, Eric; children, Elijah of Stillwater and Ysabeau; mother Katrina and brother Harley "Trey" Rightnowar of Clinton; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Harley "Jack" Rightnowar; and her grandparents Don "Dude" and Vivian Williams. Memorials in Jackie's name may be made to the Jackie Cloninger Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Bank of Hydro, PO Box 7, Hydro, OK 73048.
