Funeral Services for Jim Banks, 92, Weatherford resident, will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 4, 2022, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Tony Cannon. Burial will follow in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery in Corn, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. James “Jim” Darrell Banks was born January 15, 1930, to George W. Banks and Elsie Mae (Childs) Banks in Stockton, MO and passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in the Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, OK. Jim was raised in The Stockton, MO area and completed two years of Business College. He was married to Joy Looman and later Phyllis Brown. He had a career managing TG&Y Stores and over the road with Rothenburger Sloth as a salesman before he retired. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and collecting ink pens. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joy Banks, four brothers, Leroy Banks, Cecil Banks, Bill Banks, and Laverne Banks, three sisters, Marjorie Templeton, Dorothy Schwartz and Virginia Dennhardt, daughter, Joyce Stewart and son in law Joe Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Banks, Weatherford, two daughters, Janet Giles. Flagstaff, AZ and Janell Riggs and husband Rodney, Enid, OK and two sons, J.D. Banks and wife, Debby, Cordell, OK and Ray Malan and wife, Cindy, Westminster, CO. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
