Funeral Services for James F. Bonner, 89, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Jeff McDowell and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. James Frederick Bonner was born January 12, 1924 to G.W. and Nancy Vivian (Kelley) Bonner Cheyenne, OK in Roger Mills County and passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK. James was raised in Roger Mills County where he attended his schooling. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 14, 1942, serving during WWII and he was honorably discharged on March 9, 1945. He was soon married to Opal Cooksey on June 20, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma. They couple traveled extensively and made their living at running restaurants and cafes. They owned and operated a Trading Post in Gallop, NM and they also operated Bonner's Café in Elk City and Erick. Mr. Bonner had his pilot's licenses and the couple traveled all over the United States. He and his wife had a special love for their animals. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 65 years, in June of 2010. He is survived by grandson, Scott Bonner, Washington.
