James "Jimmy" Adams

Funeral Services for James "Jimmy" Adams, 70, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 26, 2019 in the First Mennonite Church, officiated by Emil Schmidt, Daniel Mosburg and Dave Gerbrandt. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Keisau- Lee Funeral Home. James "Jimmy" Adams was born October 27, 1948 to Steven and Bessie (Morales) Adams at Corn Bread Corner near Colony, Oklahoma and passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 in his Clinton home. He was raised and attended school in Cowden and Colony graduating in 1967. Jimmy was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1968 and served a year in Viet Nam in 1969. After his honorable discharge he returned back to Colony, Oklahoma and married Bonita Mauldin on January 8, 1972. To this union two sons were born, Michael Shane and Jimmie Lynn. He worked farm labor from the time he was 15 till he went in the army. He also worked at Eakly Coop. He married Deborah Story on May 16, 1986 and they had a son Justin Gene. She preceded him in death April 15, 1996. James worked in the Oilfield for several years and in 1989 he worked for Bar-S Foods and retired after 24 years. He married Margaret (Harms) Schultz on October 29, 2005 and they have made Clinton their home. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church and was led to the Lord by Pastor Dave Gerbrandt. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Freddie and wife, Pat, Art and wife, Claudette, Eldon and wife, Mary and Frank and wife, Betty; sisters Ester Garcia and husband Manuel, Margaret Toni and husband, Gene; brothers in law, Goldie Schultz and Roger McElroy; his mother and father in law, Ogen and Pauline Harms, sister in law, Linda Martin and step granddaughter Jessica Schultz. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of the home, four sons, Michael Shane Adams, Jimmie Adams, Justin Adams and Jeremy Schultz; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Marshall "CD" and Steve "JR" and Albert Ochoa and wife Glenda and sister, Mary Ruth Schultz and Faye and many nieces and nephews and friends, a brother in law Tony Martin.
