Funeral services for James "Jim" Dennis Weber, 74, long-time Arapaho resident, have been set for 10:00 AM Thursday, May 10th, 2018 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, with Wendell Folsom officiating, and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery. Jim passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, May 5th, 2018. He was born to James Mervin and Zella Lorraine Weber, in Los Angeles, CA. "Jimmy Dee", as his family called him, was a wonderful big brother to several siblings. He attended school in various areas of Oklahoma and Kansas, before joining the United States Air Force at 17. While in the Air Force, Jim performed missile maintenance and mechanics. While stationed at the Clinton-Sherman Base, he met the love of his life, Myrtle Kness. They were married July 18th, 1964, in Cordell. Jim and Mert spent the early years of their marriage building a family while Jim continued his military service, spending time living in New Mexico and Michigan. The family returned to Oklahoma, settling in Arapaho. Jim soon began his career as an electric lineman, eventually going to work for Kiwash Electric. His children and grandchildren have many memories of him going out in the rain, snow, ice and wind to help restore the power lines. Jim enjoyed working on cars and fishing, especially with his brothers-in-law, Lloyd Kness, Larry BeBout, and John Evans. Jim and Mert were long-time members of the VFW and appreciated visiting with friends and having a good laugh. Family was the most important thing in the world to Jim, and he loved seeing family at cook-outs and holiday gatherings. He was a kind and honorable man; a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mert; a son, Doug Weber; and two brothers, Lee and Johnny Weber. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Weber (Arapaho); three daughters, Edith (Forrest) Freelove of New Mexico, Gail Lewis (Donnie Phipps) of Clinton, and Lisa Reichert of Moore; a brother, Dave (Marybelle) Weber; and sisters Karen (Randy) Hauser, Vickie Zufall, Debrah Lins, and Patricia Hurn. His grandchildren Toshia (Sean) Andrew, Tiffany (Aaron) Coffey, Stachia (Michael) Taylor, Kelsi Preston, James and Logan Weber, Grant (Liz) McAtee, Jerit (Jenny) O'Dell, Douglas and Herman Weber, Devon (Khaila) Mitchell, Braden and Parker Lewis, Kenli and Wyatt Reichert will miss him greatly. Jim also had 16 great-grandchildren; Colby, Caitlyn, Alyssa, Ethan, AuBree, Mason, Maddie, Matthew, Jacob, Brenden, Aiden, Jaylynn, Jaleigh, Madelyn, Braxton, and Diana; and one great-great grandson, Gage.
