Funeral Services for Janice Newman, 84, Clinton resident will be held Friday, 10:00 A.M., September 20, 2019 in the Life Fellowship Church in Weatherford, officiated by Pastor Nate Hicks. Burial will conclude in the Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Janice Ann (Reeder) Newman was born June 26, 1935 to Foster and Ruth (Prewitt) Reeder in Foss, Oklahoma and passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 in the Clinton Alliance Emergency Room. Janice was raised in Burns Flat, Oklahoma graduating high school in 1953. She continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK. She worked for Senator Max Cook during the Legislature in 1954 and was the Secretary for the Washita County Superintendent, Asa Marshall. She married Luther Newman March 26, 1955 in Burns Flat. After his military stint they made their home at Cordell and farmed near Weatherford and Burns Flat for over 10 years and before moving to Clinton in 1966. She was also employed as secretary for the Fontaine Trucking Company in Burns Flat, Eisinman Chemical Company and the Collins and Aikman, Clinton before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Life Fellowship Church in Weatherford and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Don Reeder. She is survived by her husband, Luther Newman, two daughters, Nedena (Newman) Pimentel and husband, Kenneth, Jenks, OK, Regena Record, Sapulpa; son, Leroy Brian Newman, Clinton, OK; She is also survived by two grandchildren, Ja'nice Mitchell Lewis and Kayla Record both of Sapulpa three great grandchildren, Cohen Lewis, Daniel Lewis and Lucille Mullenix ; brother in law and his wife, Sister Wilma and husband Billy Fowler, and a sister in law Judy Reeder, and a host of other relatives and friends
