Funeral Services for J.C. Smith are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the Freewill Baptist Church in Clinton, with Charlie Murphy and Sandy Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Parkersburg Cemetery, and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. J.C. was born October 4, 1929 in Custer City, to William and Lena (Mangus) Smith, and passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Clinton Veterans Center. J.C. was raised in the Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School In 1946. He married Darlene Stockton on May 12, 1952. He was in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1953. J.C. was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Clinton. He was a carpenter, managed Clinton Glass, worked at the Clinton Public Schools, and was a locksmith. He also enjoyed reading and studying his Bible, and watching westerns, and Clinton football. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene, and a sister Mary Lawrence. He is survived by his daughter Diana and husband Dennis Cariker of Norman, his sons James Curtis Smith and his wife Linda of Yukon, Philip Smith and his wife Norma of Burns Flat, and 5 grandchildren, Neil Glance and wife Kristi of Clinton, Carrie and her husband Billy Dawson of Weatherford, James (Bubba) Smith and his wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City, Julie and her husband Aaron Lewis of Oklahoma City, and Chris Pitts of New York.
