Jd Browning

June 14, 1930 — January 29, 2017

June 14, 1930, a baby boy was born to Jim and Pearl Browning. He was to be their only child. He grew up a boy with many responsibilities. He helped his father on the farm, drove the only athletic school bus to all athletic events, was the mechanic for that bus and still managed to play baseball and play hooky. JD had very little time for his education, but he was smart. On July 2, 1949, he married the smartest girl in his graduating class, Virginia North. The following June they welcomed their first child, a son, Jimmy Dale (Butch) . JD continued to help his father farm until a heart attack took his young father, leaving the responsibility of the farm, his own mother, and his wife and son all on his shoulders. It wasn't long before he and Virginia added one more child, a daughter, Dayna Lea. They would eventually move to the farmstead. To make ends meet JD farmed, drove a truck, worked at the gin in Burns flat, swathed and bailed hay, combined wheat, raised cattle and probably more. For years JD and Virginia, each on their own tractor, could be seen working one field after another together. They did everything together. They worked hard and enjoyed life. After 46 years of marriage, two children, and four grandchildren, Virginia passed. Life became lonely for JD. He would visit his children but would never stay long, feeling a strong need to be at home to check on the cattle. Eventually, he met someone who would help him enjoy life again. In 2000, he married Freeda Sadberry. Freeda helped him end his farming days and sell the cattle. They shared a love of family, music and traveling and spent many hours on the road. >> Sunday, January 29, 2017, JD ended this journey. JD is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Browning, son Jimmy Dale (Butch) Browning, and daughter in-law, Jackie Browning. He is survived by his wife Freeda and her family, including Little Freeda and Davinia; his daughter and son in law Dayna and Gary Christensen and their son Jacob Christensen and Courtney and their two sons Jaxon and Maximus; granddaughter and husband Karmen and Joe May and their three children Stetson,Taylor and Darcy ; grandson and wife Darrean and Jamie Browning and their daughter Piper; and grandson Ryan Browning.
