Funeral Services for Jealden Carr, 81, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the First Baptist Church, officiated by Elijah B. Demerson and the message will be delivered by her son Mal Ray Carr. Burial will continue at the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Jealden (Sanders) Carr was born January 10, 1936 to Odie Sanders and Johnnie D. (Johnson) Sanders in Longview, Texas and passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the Ware Assisted Living Center in Amarillo, TX. Jealden was raised in Longview, TX where she graduated from Freedonia School. She soon moved to Oklahoma and was married to Herbert "Hap" Carr on November 29, 1955 in El Reno, Oklahoma. They made Clinton their home and she worked as a certified nurse's aide for The Clinton Veterans Center for over 35 years. She also helped many Clinton families by doing home health care. She became an ordained minister and served as pastor of the True Gospel Tabernacle Church for several years. Do to failing health she moved to Amarillo, Texas to be close to her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Hap" on their 55th Wedding Anniversary, November 29, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Helen Hunt and Dot Richie and step brother, Willie Odie Sanders. She is a member of the True Gospel Christ Holy Sanctified Church; she loved the outdoors, gardening and working with her flowers and she loved Friday Night Red Tornado Football. Mrs. Carr is survived by three daughters, Ethel Jean Jones, Joy Renee Cobbins, both of Amarillo, TX and Norma Gale Mallory, Arlington, TX; four sons, Richard Allen Carr and wife, Rose, Tulsa, OK, Mal Ray Carr and wife Edith, Amarillo, TX, Herbert Charles Carr and wife Maria, Amarillo, TX and Adrian Dewayne Carr and wife, Tyra, Amarillo, TX; two sisters Opal Fisher, El Reno, OK, Pauline Johnson, Longview, TX and brother, Billy Paul Sanders, Longview, TX. She is also survived by 28 Grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members. The family will greet guest and host a memorial service 6:30 P.M., Friday, April 7, 2017 at True Gospel Tabernacle Church on Glenn Smith Road.
