Funeral Services for Jean Simpson, 90, Arapaho resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 5, 2019 in the First Christian Church officiated by Daniel Mosburg and Sandy Shepherd. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery in Arapaho, Oklahoma under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Jean C. Simpson was born April 2, 1928 to Troy and Pearl (Steward) Barrick in Butler, Oklahoma and passed away on April 1, 2019 in the Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Jean was raised in the Butler and Arapaho areas and she graduated from Arapaho High School in 1946. She was married to Chester Lee Simpson January 10, 1948 in Wheeler, Texas; they made Arapaho their first home and later moved to the family farm west of Arapaho where they raised their family. She has been a homemaker most of her life as well as farming and ranching. She was a member of the Arapaho Methodist Church for many years and later attended the First Christian Church in Clinton; she was a 50 plus year member of the Sunny Side Club; she enjoyed Sewing, gardening and loved to sing and whistle. She is preceded in death by her husband after 64 years of marriage, parents, daughter, Gail Taylor, brother, Laverne Barrick and a sister, Peggy Daugherty. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Hankins and husband, Marvin, Weatherford, OK and Jennifer Sanders and husband, David, Mustang, son Gary Simpson and wife Diana, Eagle River, Alaska, son in law, Grover Taylor and wife Linda, Weatherford, OK, sister, Maxine Orr, Stockton, CA, Marlene Orr, Wyoming, two brothers, Steward Barrick, Clinton and Bill Barrick and wife Sheila, Arapaho and a brother in law, Wayne Daugherty and wife Delores, Arapaho. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Randy Taylor, Colorado Springs, CO, Leslie Taylor, Ada, OK, Jason Smith and wife, Michele, San Jose, CA, Jamie Farley and husband, John, Edmond, OK, Keri Sanders, Owasso, OK, Brad Sanders and wife, Julie, Yukon, OK, Brian Hankins and wife Amy, Weatherford, OK, Kyle Hankins, Clinton, OK, Marcus Wright and wife Colby, Weatherford, OK, Nikki Schalla and husband Luke, Arapaho, OK, and 17 great-grandchildren.
