Funeral Services for Jefferson H. Caler, 79, Custer City resident, will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 27, 2012 in the First Christian Church of Custer City, officiated by Gilbert Forrest and burial will conclude in the Custer City Masonic Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Military Honors will be presented by the Ft. Sill Honor Guard. Jefferson Henry Caler was born September 25, 1933 to James T. Caler and Mary (Davenport) Caler in Thorney, AR and passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in his Custer City home. He was raised in Elkins, AR and attended school at Pinnacle Mountain. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After he received his honorable discharge he returned back to Arkansas. He worked for the Campbell’s Soup Company and a Lumber Logging Company. He was married to Kathleen Marie Lint in 1963 in Arkansas. He worked several years as a carpenter before moving to Oklahoma in mid-1990. He settled in Custer City and has worked as a carpenter as long as health permitted. He was preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers, Clyde, Connie, Rupert, Roy and Willie. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, daughter, Virginia Caler, Custer City two sons, Leroy Givens, Leoti, KS and Jeff Caler and wife, Justine, Custer City, OK and two sisters, Bessie Heath and Dessie Brong, both of Gresham, OR. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
