Funeral Services for Jeffery Kent Powell, 45, Arapaho resdient, will be held, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the First Christian Church in Clinton, with Doyle Kinney officiating, and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery. Kent was born June 1, 1970, in Guymon, Oklahoma to Ted and Sandy (Snow) Powell, and passed away early Thursday morning December 17, 2015, just east of Hydro on I-40. Kent grew up, and was raised in Guymon, he graduated with honors from Guymon High School in 1988. He was a member of the 1987 State Runner Ups, and the 1988 ChampionFootball teams. He attended undergraduate school at Oklahoma State, University, and then graduated from Oklahoma University Health and Science Center in 1993. After graduation Kent became the Clinical Director at the Spine Center in Oklahoma City, and later was the director of Physical Therapy at the Guymon Memorial Hospital. On May 18, 1991 he married his best friend and love of his life Tamara Waltrip, in Clinton. In 1996 he and his wife Tamara opened their private practice, with business partners Brand Hartsell, and Tamara Grabeal, and it was named First Care Rehabilitation, he was still operating it until his death. Kent was a member of the First Christian Church in Clinton, he served on several boards with the church, and he was a past member on the board of the Chamber of Commerce in Clinton, APTA, OPTA, and AOPA. He was a licensed private pilot, and flying was his passion, he loved snow skiing, golfing, hunting, coaching all kids in all sports, helping people, and Oklahoma State University football, he enjoyed both of his corvettes, and riding his Harley Davidson, He especially loved spending time with his wife and two boys. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Kenneth and Gladys Powell, and his Maternal Grandparents, Marvin and Estelle Snow. He is survived by his wife Tamara, of the Home, 2 sons Holden 14, and Hudson 12, also of the Home, his Parents Ted and Sandy Powell of Edmond, 2 sisters Debbie Crump, and her husband Dave, of Owasso, and Stacy McMahan, and her husband Jerry, of Pittsburg PA., 3 nephews Zac and Brandon Crump, of Owasso, and Drew Mahanay, of Clinton, and 6 nieces, Kate, Molly, and Olivia McMahan, of Pittsburg PA., Dasha Sawyer, Daci Sawyer and Marly Mahanay, all of Clinton, his father and mother Law Denver and Carolyn Waltrip, of Arapaho, his sisters in law, DeAnn Sawyer, of Arapaho, Sheri Mahanay, and her husband Clint, of Clinton, and a very special friend, Brand Hartsell, of Weatherford. In Lieu of Flowers the family would like to have donations sent to the Clinton Public Schools foundation, the Clinton Public School Athletic Fund, and Western Oklahoma Christian School-Corn Bible Academy. A memorial fund has been set up at Interbank, 801 Gary Boulevard in Clinton, OK 73601 or can be dropped off at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home 2500 West Modelle, Clinton, OK.
