Jeffrey Quinn "Ranger" Rhoads

October 20, 1969 — August 6, 2015

Jeffrey Quinn "Ranger" Rhoads was born October 20, 1969 to Murray Adrian and Patricia Ann Rhoads in Dallas, TX. It is with great sadness the family announced his passing on Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Southwest Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 45 years. This man was known by many names, "Chik-ka" (which means boy in the Alabama Tribe), "Spotted Bear" was his Cheyenne Indian name given to him by his Cheyenne grandmother, and "Ranger" by his close friends. There were many people that probably didn't know his real name was Jeff; "Cianan O'Domhnaill" was his SCA name. He was raised in the Dallas, TX and Moore, Oklahoma area and he graduated from Moore High School before attending Rose State College in Oklahoma City. He was active with a Medieval Reenactment Group called Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) and was known by the name of "Cianan". He often sewed and created his own clothes, cloaks and outfits and did for others as well. He was well known throughout the United States and many foreign countries for his singing for many Courts and his medieval participation. He designed a logo for the U.S. Marine Corps and it was featured in their Marine Corps Magazine. He wasn't blessed with good health and was given more health problems in his short life than anyone should have to bear. He left this world and his pain to be with his Maheo. As the sun sets on his life remember the good times and know he is in Maheo's hands. He will be deeply missed but may he have eternal rest. He was baptized as a child into the Presbyterian faith, he is a strong believer in Maheo and traditional teachings. He was a member of the Cheyenne Tribe and the Alabama Tribe of Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Hollis and Elvina Battise, Harvey and Sophia Goodblanket Rhoads; Aunts Norma Clark, Leatrice Poweshiek, Colleen Cometsevah, Gussie Nell Battise, Maud Estelle Battise, Marilyn Battise, Uncles Arleigh Rhoads, Harvey Rhoads, Jr., James Battise, Edward Louis Clark, Laird Cometsevah , Richard Poweshiek. He is survived by his mother, Patricia, sisters, Adria Suina and husband, Greg, Melanie Motah and husband, Gaylon; brothers, Murray Rhoads, Jr. and wife, Patty, Howard Battise, his Uncles Wayne Battise and, Mickey Battise. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews, and other close and extended family and his faithful and beloved black lab, "Gunny". Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation for all the kind words, prayers and support. Our prayers are for you to be blessed?
