A Chapel Service for Jerry Donald Eggleston, 84, of Weatherford and formerly the Elk City and Canute area will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel. The service will be officiated by Randy Beutler and Sally Eggleston. Burial will follow in the Canute Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Jerry was born March 29, 1933 to Raymond and Elsie Eggleston in Elk City, Oklahoma. His father passed away in an accident before he was born and he was raised by his step-father Harold Blackmore and Elsie. Jerry passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 in his Weatherford home. Jerry was raised in the Canute and Foss area. He started a rodeo career as a young man and was involved in rodeo most of his life. He worked with the Beutler and Son Rodeo and the Simmons Ranch throughout his career. Even though the rodeo business was hard work, he never considered it work because he enjoyed it so much. He was a Gold Card Member of the PRCA. He was married to Patsy Jean Brandon on March 21, 1960 in Elk City, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Elk City and Canute areas. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Eggleston, Harold and Elsie Blackmore and an infant daughter Carrie. He is survived by his two daughters: Terri Mulinix and husband, Larry of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Sally Eggleston and husband, Marshal of Mustang, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister Anne Anderson and husband, Tom of Norman, Oklahoma and a sister-in-law Linda Sue Ray and husband Carlton of Tipton, Oklahoma. He is survived by two granddaughters, Mary Gowin and husband James of Yukon, Oklahoma and Laura Deaton of Weatherford, Oklahoma. He had one great-granddaughter Stella Deaton of Weatherford, Oklahoma. The family has asked that those wanting to give a memorial contribution direct the contributions to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
