A funeral Service for Jerry D. Whiteman-Wolf Chief, 78, former Hammon resident and now of Towaoc, CO will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 31, 2014 in the C.E. Creach Hammon School Auditorium, officiated by Rev. Lawrence Hart, Rev. Gerald Panana, Manuel Heart, Chairman of Ute Mountain. and burial will follow in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. A traditional wake service will be held 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in the Hammon Indian Community Center. Jerry Dean Whiteman-Wolf Chief was born to Roy Whiteman and (Myrna Wolf Chief) Whiteman on February 26, 1936 in Hammon, OK and passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Jerry was raised in Hammon, OK and Towaoc, CO. He was married to Euna H. Hight on November 5, 1982 in Towaoc, CO. He was a truck driver and traveled extensively. He enjoyed motorcycles, airplane models, communicating on Citizen Ban radios, and he traveled and vacationed in many states. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Roy Whiteman, Myrna Wolf Chief, Milton Whiteman, Phyllis Whiteskunk, Franklin Whiteman, Randy Whiteman, Darwin Whiteman, Sr., and Mary Etta Whiteman Osage, Helen Little Coyote, Frank and Susie Roman Nose and Chester Whiteman. He is survived by his wife, Euna H. Whiteman, Daughters, Anita May, Corrina May, Lorrinda May and Cheyenne Wolf Chief; sons, Dewayne Whiteman, Darwin L. Whiteman, Roybal Whiteman, Clarence Whiteman, and Frederick Whiteman; sisters, Edith Bissonette and Nancy Prairie Chief. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
