A Graveside Service for Jessie Ann Elder, 71, Lubbock, TX resident will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, March 13, 2022, in the Prairie Bell Cemetery (6 miles West and ½ Mile North of Putnam, OK), officiated by Norman Jones and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. The family will greet guests 3:00 P.M., till 5:00 P.M., Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Jessie Ann Elder was born November 23, 1950, to Warren Lloyd elder and Elmeda Bell (Watts) Elder in Oklahoma City, OK and passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Lubbock, TX. Jessie was raised in Oklahoma City, graduated from Southeast High School in 1969. She continued her education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK and worked on a music degree. Later years she earned a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Texas Tech University, then earned a master’s degree in urban planning from Oklahoma University. In March of 2006, she moved to Idalou, TX from Oklahoma City, OK. The last five years of her life had been difficult of her as she had a massive stroke at age 50. But she managed to live on her own until March 2021 when she suffered another stroke. She was a member the Primitive Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lloyd Elder. She is survived by two brothers, J.W. Elder, Edmond, OK and Lowell Elder, Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by five nieces and two nephews as well as many friends.
