Funeral Services for Jimmie Smith, 86, former Butler and Clinton resident will be held 1:00 Monday, August 16, 2021 in the Butler First Baptist Church, officiated by Chris Fields. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Jimmie Lee Smith was born April 7, 1935 in Butler, OK and passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in the St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Jimmie was raised in Butler and attended Butler School where he graduated in 1953. He soon moved to California for two years and worked in a Steel Mill and for the General Motors Plant. He enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the 1st Infantry and worked in Aircraft parts. After his honorable discharge he moved back to Custer County and made his home in Butler. He then helped build the Foss Lake Dam, helped put in the runway at Burns Flat, worked a plant north of Butler and he hauled cattle for Buell Fox. He married Loretta Janiece Fox on September 21, 1957, in Butler. He farmed for over 53 years and retired in 2012. He had moved to Clinton in 1989. He was a member of the Butler Baptist Church; he was a sponsor for AA and NA for several years; he loved to farm, raise cattle, wheat and cotton; but his main hobby was working; and he did enjoy dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Jack Smith and a niece, Brenda Lumpkin. He is survived by his son, Randall Smith and wife, Via Rosalina, OKC, OK, daughter, Terri Lynn Johnson, Clinton. Four grandchildren, Randy Smith, Weatherford, Cassidy Smith, Edmond, Monique Smith, OKC, and Brent Allen Johnson, Clinton and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by, nieces Kalli Strong and husband, J.D. and their daughter, Edyn Strong, Marilyn Jenkins and husband, Larry and their daughter, Jennifer DeVaughn and Jill Anderson and husband, Bennett ; sisters in law, Narci Smith and Doug Greer, Judy Carter and husband, Dana and their children, Casey , Thomas, Danny Carter and Misti Carter Partida.
