A graveside service for Johnnie Brines, 101, Clinton resident will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 10, 2014 in the Comanche Cemetery in Comanche, OK, officiated by Luther Brines (brother of the deceased) and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Johnnie Laverne Brines was born October 15, 1913 to Robert L. and Freda (Wilkerson) Brines in Addington, OK and passed away early Wednesday morning, November 5, 2014 in his brother's home in Clinton, OK. Mr. Brines was raised in various areas of Oklahoma and did his schooling around Carnegie. In the early years he was employed by the WPA and the CCC. He soon started a career with Oklahoma State Department of Transportation Highway Construction Division in Duncan, Oklahoma and retired in 1978 while living in Antlers, OK. He had moved to Clinton recently to be close to family. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, he enjoyed fishing and he loved to dance and was still dancing at the age of 100. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Forest Brines and two sisters, Minnie Souza and Jarata Barren. He is survived by two brothers, Lester Brines, of Clinton and Eddie Brines, of Apache.
