Joseph Ray Lunsford

Memorial Service for Joseph R. Lunsford, 75, Brule, NE resident will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in the Emergency Response Center, (ERC), officiated by Pastor Defred “Bunny” Whitecrow. Burial will in the Clinton Indian Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

A Traditional Wake service will be held 7:00 PM till 9:00 PM, Monday, June 5, 2023, in the ERC.

Joseph Ray Lunsford, was born December 27, 1947, to Luther and Rosabelle (Wilson) Lunsford in Clinton, OK and passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Brule, NE.

Joseph was raised in Calumet, OK and graduated high school in 1966. He was a bull rider and joined the rodeo circuit riding in rodeos all over. He soon joined the oilfields and worked in Oklahoma and Colorado.

He is a member of the Cheyenne Tribes of Oklahoma, enjoyed hunting and working with horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Tommy Lunsford and Luther Lunsford.

He is survived by five children, Scout (Lunsford) Jowell, Shannon (Lunsford) Yowell, Christy Joe Lunsford, Jeffery Lunsford and Selton Lunsford, three sisters, Patricia Rogue, Arapaho, OK, Sue Ann Lunsford, of NM, Amanda Lunsford, of AZ, three brothers, Lou Allen Lunsford, of CO, Mark Lunsford, Calumet, OK and James Lunsford, Amarillo, TX.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Braydon and Jake Yowell, Candon Goble.
